We have built
community centers in the heart of the slums that we are working in …
The activities that we conduct in the centers includes; prenatal care
clinics; health and hygiene classes; feeding program; emergency care;
education program; bible studies; dental care programs; medical missions;
TB screening and treatment program just to name a few. The purpose of
the centers being built and run in the heart of the slums and dumpsites
is to enable us to provide the most needed and accessible programs to
the people … where they live … in addition … by our
centers literally being “in” the area, it helps us to better
understand the daily challenges and conditions that our recipients encounter.
We have installed more than water pumps that are situated
at our community centers and in the surrounding Barangay area.

SITE
Our center at Lapu Lapu rubbish dump is our largest with two classrooms
… giving us the capacity to school children at a time …

INAYAWAN RUBBISH DUMP SITE
Inayawan community center is currently under reconstruction … we
are moving from a temporary building constructed out of 2 forty foot shipping
containers that were converted into a very functionable classroom and
training center.
Now our permanent site built on our own land will house two classrooms
and a two story factory come training center where we will conduct ongoing
training and skills base training for those that would normally be scavenging
on the dumpsite.
 
PIER 4 SLUM AREA
We have a small center that has been working well within the slum …
and we have recently purchased a bigger building that we are in the process
of converting into a classroom so that we can increase the number of children
that we cater for.
