Water Pump - Community Development |
We aim to provide the communities that we are working
in with as much assistance for change as possible. Our methods for achieving
this goal include: training; provision of water; improved housing; assistance
with the creation of jobs and livelihood projects; adult literacy training;
education subsidies for young children; education programs concerning
public health issues; and networking within the communities with as many
relevant services as possible … facilitating parent groups etc …
To date we have installed and maintain more than 20 water pumps and we
are in the process of accessing funding for the implementation of a potable
drinking water system at Pier 4 one of the most destitute areas that we
are currently working in. We test the water of the pumps regularly to
ensure that the levels of toxins etc are safe … we do not encourage
the drinking of the water …
