Our mission was contacted 6 months ago regarding a concert. Since then there has been auditioning and rehearsing of local talent.

During kinder one and kinder two graduations this year a group of young boys came and asked us if they could dance at this graduation. It was a very odd request but we allowed them to dance and to our surprise we saw a God given talent in this awesome group of boys. We immediately signed them up for the auditions and we were very impressed by their presentation. They were given many songs to dance to and they dedicated most of their time to their rehearsals. During this time our relationships with them grew which lead to some of these boys giving their hearts to Jesus. Hallelujah! Some of them were even baptized. Over their period that they practiced and even the time when the band was here their hearts grew hungrier for the truth. The amount of boys that had given their hearts to the Lord continued to increase and their passion for Jesus was displayed in their dancing.

Concerts were held in several malls, in many fellowships and even at the youth camps. The boys were so excited to have the opportunity to perform in front of all these people. An opportunity they would never have had and these boys are amazing! In the words of the Belconnen community church “they are world class”. We were also able to connect with a group of dancers from Pier 4 who also have been affected by the word of the gospel. Picture in your mind the “Coolest dudes” who are completely obsessed with the way they look and move, so impacted with the gospel that they are reduced to crying like babies before the Lord as he embraces them with love and compassion. In this country dancing is similar to gang membership. It is very competitive and very serious! Many of the boys have been stabbed and beaten by other dance group because of their gift and talent. These young boys have been affected by the gospel beyond our expectation or our understanding. There is a hunger in these boys as they see a reality in Christ that is drawing them.

This hunger drew them to take a step of faith and come to a 2 day youth camp which was sponsored by the Belconnen Community Church. We brought 80 young people from the slums that we work in to a camp with the purpose to show them the power of the love of God.

For most of them they were quite apprehensive that it would be quite boring and religious. But God had given us the strategy on how to reach their heart and how to break down their barriers. The first day all we did was play games, eat, have fun, play more games, eat some more and swim. We had no demands on them at all. The rules were simple and easy to keep. For most of these young kids it was the first time they had slept in a bed. For all of the kids it was the first time that they had seen served three meals in a day without having to work for it. What a blessing that was in itself!

Day two of the camp we started with the band playing and have a time of worship and dance. It was awesome and you could see the kids responding more openly than they had previously. But still we kept it with games and went swimming in the afternoon. We believed that by night they would be hungry for God.

Julito shared his testimony which powerfully challenged many of the young men who had lived similar lives of violence.

After a short message and prayer the holy spirit moved powerfully and the young people were completely undone before God, there was nothing false or pretentious. These young people were crying out to their heavenly father and He was moving!
Isagani who was stabbed 7 times was among these boys and God reached right into his heart leaving an impact that can now be seen through his life and dancing. He nearly died because of his choices and life style … this was the time for him to reach out to God. He shared with us after the camp that he had so wanted to experience God in the way that he saw others during worship … and after Julitos testimony he closed his eyes and opened his heart. To his amazement tears fell down his cheeks as he could sense the presence of God through him and over him.
Still another young man, who constantly hides behind his humor and incredible dance talent was reduced to a vulnerable unmasked young man that called out to God with all his heart … he spoke afterwards of feeling the arms of God around him. The testimonies of these young men and women continued … the awesome truth is that God touched their lives in a way that they knew without doubt that it was HIM. Praise God.
